It is often said that a wooden floor is laid for life. This is, however, only true if the wooden floor is properly maintained and protected. Wood Floor Cleaner.co.uk was formed in association with Restore My Floor, a company who specialise in the installation and restoration of wood floors. Having installed and re-sanded hundreds of square metres of floors it became apparent to Craig Anstey (owner of Restore My Floor) that the cleaning and maintenance of the floors was vitally important to prolong the life of floor.
“Customers of Restore My Floor were always left with a bottle of floor cleaner specific to their floors finish but never seemed to contact us to re-order when they had run out. When a number of customers were questioned about this the feedback was that they didn’t want to trouble the installer for a couple of bottles of cleaner but would prefer to be able to purchase products from a shop or on-line as and when they needed them.”
The problem was that a lot of the professional finishes used on their floors were only available from trade outlets. As a solution to this problem we formed Wood Floor Cleaner.co.uk. - a single site where members of the public could browse specialist floor products and purchase cleaning and maintenance products specific to their floor finish usually only available to people in the flooring trade.
“Often home owners use a generic floor cleaner to clean their timber floors as many professional cleaning products, specific to their floor finish, are not readily available to the general public. While these products may clean the floor in the short term they don’t always help to maintain the protective finish. We also found that a lot of flooring companies failed to follow up with after care products and a maintenance regime as there wasn’t a great deal of money to be made in this area. Wood Floor Cleaner.co.uk was created to provide the general public with an online store where they can purchase cleaning and maintenance products that will help prolong the life of their floors.”
Visitors to the site can browse products by type, manufacturer and name in order to find a finish that is specific to their floor finish, purchase on-line and have their product delivered to them without having to leave the house.
